Just browsing around at about 9, internet went on the blink, rebooted router (Cisco 877), PPP link won't come up (same symptom as Sunday before last). ADSL link-layer is fine.

Anyone else having issues? This was posted from my aircard before anyone gets smartypants :P

Yes my Xnet broadband went down about 9:00 as well, just came back online now, about 9:20.

Looks like it was a small Xnet outage to me, thougth nothing posted on the xnet network status page yet.

Same too. Back online in Dunedin now. There was a message on Xnet 0800 number regarding this problem and techs were working on it

Yeah, me too and I'm on Xtencity (Wireless).  Posting this from a Telecom Mobile Broadband card.

Yep, line went dead, so i logged onto the cisco and turned ppp auth debugging on... somewhere along the chain authentication was very broken.

*Mar 3 06:07:59.350 UTC: Vi2 PAP: I AUTH-NAK id 94 len 35 msg is "access denied: request timeout"

*Mar 3 06:08:03.938 UTC: Vi2 PAP: I AUTH-NAK id 96 len 27 msg is "Tunnel startup failure"

*Mar 3 06:08:36.146 UTC: Vi2 PAP: I AUTH-NAK id 99 len 58 msg is "insufficient resources available to authenticate user"


One day i'll actually get round to learning what those all mean :)

mine is down too. What the he'll xnet, second prolonged outage! One more and I switch providers. This never happened with telecom in 3 years!

Same thing happened with my connection at Auckland CBD. My partner at home called to complain to me x-P

It died.. but then came back

Could all the leechers please leave so i can have my snappy internet..

all these outages must surely be putting the torrenting users 99.9% uptime requirements outside of SLA..

might i suggest another provider?

This is begining to annoy.

This is the 4th time network been down, although they are normally short, the last was a couple hours, and this one was 20 minutes.

Its not the end of the world, but if this continues, I will change provider.

Must say - fantastic speed from :D (400-500k/s!) until everyone got back on :( Now back down to 80k/s.

Still out of action at our place in Christchurch!! Must have picked the wrong first month to come on board with Xnet! Having trouble convincing my better half that the phone and net will be better than Woosh at this stage! I hope?!

Please, please do not get woosh. They are more hopeless than this, I swear with all the honesty in my body, I had them last year and instead of counting the number of outages, its more like counting the number of times it actually connects. Tongue out

Sorry for the off-topic, but yeah phindmarsh that's exactly what I meant! Tongue out Was trying to convince her that Xnet would be better!!! (I know it will be! The phone is already noticeably clearer, more reliable, and the net faster). Had been with Woosh for the last couple of years and just shifted to Xnet because found Woosh too temperamental! Undecided
