What the hell has happened to broadband pricing?!

a few years ago I was paying $39.95 for 20GB/month, I was then forced to a new plan of 'reasonable use' for $49.95 but still capped at 20GB. and now...latest pricing is $70/month for 1GB??!!! what the hell. needless to say I'm ditching vodafone, I'd been an ihug customer since 1997 but have no loyalty left.

now to see how much they will charge for a simple mail forwarding to my new e-mail accounts...

If so, that's $30/month for the broadband only (home phone lines are $40 a month) so it's not too bad.  Pity on the low data cap.

I was in the same boat, loyal since 95, but it all ended when it took me three calls, waiting on hold for over an hour each time, to sort out a simple billing error with my account.

Their $90 plan with 20GB and home phone line still can't be beaten right now. Just expect poor customer service for a while.

I missed the part saying it included the home line, probably to annoyed to notice. I specifically clicked on 'broadband' plans not 'bundle' or 'home phone' plans as I don't want those. I just wanted a reasonably priced broadband plan not all that bundled rubbish.

Maybe you're looking at the wrong ISP then? Vodafone do awesome bundle deals - cheapest FS/FS 20gb plan available, but only with a phone line it seems.

If you add TALK1 to that $90pm plan you get a $30 price reduction. (TALK1 costs $15pm, so technically it is a -$15 reduction).

pistolpower: Dude go rage at your own foolishness some more. Dont stop cause im just gona sit back and lol at you some more. Do you really think that it was wise paying that price for 1GB. Lol. Its your fault for being with someone offering that type of service when there is better out there. If there whernt better then it wouldnt be your fault. But there is. So its your own fault. Your foolishness is no excuse to blame vodafone. I congradulate vodafone for takeing a product worth $15 a month and selling it to someone for an arm and a leg. And they did it with all there competitions better products siting arround them. Think about it.

I missed the part where MrAlan actually signed up for it. I think you jumped the gun there. I only see one person "raging".

I pay about $80/month for 'unlimited' Telecom.
The speed of even that is woeful - in Japan it is over 60 Mbits/second compared to 2 here!!
For the speed we get I would think $20/month unlimited is fair.

It's Pro - which I am sure used to be more or less unlimited when I signed up for it about 3 years ago but on looking it up I see that they have suddenly imposed a 15Gb limit!!
I will have to watch that - I am a photographer and sometimes upload quite a lot of images to my stock site - which I usually have to do overnight because I can only get about 16/hr uploaded!
