From the traceroute it looks like you're still on one of their old cable plans. Perhaps the packet loss is a ploy to get those still on the D3.0 cable network off and onto FibreX. 😉

I am indeed on the old cable plan, my trusty Surfboard keeps chugging along.  The thought has crossed my mind that this is quite possibly limited to some messed up routing for the old plans.

I don't really want to lose my static IP, and I don't really want to have to rejig my setup with losing bridge mode, and I don't really want to have to faff about arranging a time for a site visit from a tech to install new modem - if it comes to "upgrade or die" I would probably choose "use a new provider since it's going to be a hassle either way".

This issue is impacting all our fixed services.

I've been keeping an eye on your INC ticket. We do have progress but no ETR yet.

Coincidentally there are reports on the VF forums that the issue may be resolved regarding DNS issues to Wargaming/World of Tanks.

Do you mind running an MTR test?

However other sites (eg php.net, hackaday.com) are improved again currently, but it has been like this for a few days, the sites which are affected "move around" it seems, in the morning some site is affected and another not, in the afternoon it might swap :-)

Last night everything seemed good for a while.

Thank you.

This just confirms my doubt that this problem is independent of the Wargaming problem reported on our forums. I'll update your INC ticket so that our team doesn't auto-close it thinking they're linked.

FWIW, I see today in the wargamer's thread at community...

https://community.vodafone.co.nz/t5/Broadband-services/Wargaming-sites-unavailable-DNS-error/m-p/228778/highlight/true#M25077

"We have learnt that a Global upstream provider has a problem on a core router which was affecting traffic on the return path. As a result VFNZ has shut down a bgp peering link forcing traffic to take another route"

This has fixed the problem for all the sites I noted it on and seems to be stable.
