Getting really bad latency to some australian servers, whereas i usually average about 40-60 for sydney and up to 100 for other parts of australia.

One example is a server i used to get 90 to (quite high for a sydney server) located at 202.60.88.4. About a month or two ago, this became 200, and as of this week has now increased to around 280, spiking to 300. As a comparison i get as low as 150 to west coast USA and as low as 350 to parts europe, and around 12 to auckland (from hamilton).
Note this is not the only server with huge ping, just an example.

Obviously via tokyo is not the shortest route.
202.60.65.237 is another example of a server with stupidly high ping, which also takes the same route to get to australia.

Anyone else been having issues? Can someone else try a trace? This is concerning because our main reason for joing PDQ w/o interleaving was to decrease latency, and 2 months ago everything was perfect, so something's changed, then got worse.

TCL have some very strange routing, particularly to Australia. There have been quite a few posts about this on here in the past.

Traffic to my VoIP provider (iax.faktortel.com.au) goes via Los Angeles and San Jose and then back to Sydney!

Why Telstra do this for LCR when they have their own connection between NZ and Aussie really refies logic!

I can partially understand going through asia, as annoying as it is, but going to the USA and back? At least that ones only 180 ping for me, which would be okay for voip.

I'd really like to hear some answers - i wish this couldve been in the CEO interview! Hopefully they dont just give crap responses like xnet do with 'play on national servers' and the like.

Don't get me started... I took a screenshot last night of my 10mbit cable running a tad over dial-up speed and a ping of 161 (or something) to wellington when my last speedtest was 8110 or something with a ping of 41 to melbourne!

Will post it when I fire up my laptop later.

Well the first server i mentioned is fixed. 50 ping, which is great and normal.

But heres yet another aussie server with stupidly high ping. Arghhh.
A fix would be nice if you're reading this TCL staff - you seemed to fix the last one.
