that’s only handy when your house has poor coverage, right?

Or when you are overseas. My son made a recent trip to Bali and I was able to contact him he was using his Iphone 7.

Correct using the hotel wifi in his room and not paying roaming charges voice minutes came off his existing allocation when he rang me and no charge to my son when I rung him.
hhan: what is your experience with 2d? Coverage, speed, service, etc.

ANglEAUT:
- π Very good coverage in city & urban environments, limited coverage only in remote corners. (I've travelled lots across the NI & to many of the major cities / towns on the SI, only had issues in certain spots during holiday trips)
- π Fast connections for calls, acceptable & responsive downloads
- π Friendly customer service teams, prompt responses, very rarely delayed when calling the support line
- π Sometimes offerings are not as competitive as others
- π As michaelmurfy said, they treat existing customers just as good as new customers
- π Their perks have dwindled
- π During summer, they offered 2 hours of free data compared tot he usual 1 (suited my lifestyle better than free data all weekend long or only at night)
Thanks, lot of information.
I've got 2x Kogan 32GB 30 day plan simcards if anyone in Hamilton wants one. Bought two Xiaomi Mi 9T phones and the sim-cards came with em. Valid until June. I just have to pass on the activation code.
coffeebaron: Pick a pre-pay plan that can be auto paid by credit card on it's renewal?
For my personal phone, I'm on a Spark monthly prepaid plan. It costs $19/month and auto-renews via my debit card. Very easy and convenient and more than enough for my personal use.

So Kogan is cheaper if pay annually while skinny network (spark) has better coverage?
Once a year I go on holiday to a spot near Lake Karapiro that's notorious for having no Vodafone coverage (my phone is Vodafone), so I also have a Skinny SIM card to use then. Works like an absolute champ.
We had that same problem near Lake Taupo until VF turned on 4G@700.
We did and still use a skinny 4G broadband plan attached to Suresignal with antenna - also works like a charm, especially for the occasional 'friends' who stand out by our gate :)
