Yeah, nan. The VFTV box was cabled to the Linksys.
So I think (I would imagine @Linux would know better though):
- Current-gen HFC uses DHCP (DOCSIS 3.1)
- Earlier-gen used static IPs
- The Cisco modems were only used for earlier-gen with static IPs. Current gen DOCSIS3.1 needs the newer rebadged technicolor modem
So it may be that if you've been upgraded to a current gen plan, the cable modem is the problem rather than your router.

The old connection should stay in tact / completely seperate until the new one is installed. In fact the new one is on a whole different billing system (Vodafone A vs Vodafone C (old customerzone etc), new account number and all)
