Makes sense doing it this way where they don’t need to procure a heap of satellite boxes where they will only be useful for a few months

You mean from the scrap heap of 2008 designed mySkys?? Pace themselves are no more so they haven't provided new Pace boxes for years. Kaon is for live and onDemand only.

Two weeks into, February I don't think anyone has received a proposed solution promised in the email that suggested we would get in January.

The rumoured SKY based solutions - great if they work for you.  But it's starting to look like those who just wanted the Freeview streamed / Internet apps solution will have to head down the consumer guarantee path, which is disappointing.

It’s really a bit premature to start talking about a “consumer guarantee path”.

The box is currently working as designed, and the FAQ says the refund process will start in March/April, a full 6 months before it’s expected to stop working.

Can someone tell me if I cancel Sky now, will I be able to continue watching local tv on my VTV box till September? We hardly watch any of the Sky channels now and prefer to get another streaming service instead.

Thanks @Linux. Wonder what the easiest way to do this will be so the least length of interaction and time required.

@Eva888 You login to your VTV account account and cancel the service should take you all of 2 minutes if that

This is how you subscribed to the service so just do the reverse

I’ve never logged into VTV as they stuffed up and I had two, then the password wouldn’t work so I gave up and didn’t bother getting it fixed. Couldn’t be bothered.

You must have signed in to VTV if it was purchased retail, and setup Sky there.

If you goto www.VTV.nz click on "Aleady registered? Signin" then click on "forgot password"  and put in the email address you may have used.

Then go to your email and follow the link. Once you get in after changing the password if it is the correct email address, simply cancel your subscription.

It was inevitable. Cancelled Sky by phone and asked if FTA would continue to work until September and was assured, yes.. Was handed over to Retentions who gave me a brilliant new deal for just broadband and phone. Happily went off for a short break only to return to no TV at all. Both Sky and FTA off.

Found a courier bag from VF with a notice...Enjoy your new VFTV box and a list of instructions for my new replacement box...but, no new box was in the bag. Also in the instructions was to return my faulty box in the bag provided.

Notice on my TV from Vodafone was your box needs a reset and to go to their website for instructions. Did that. Took one look and decided to call instead in case I made the confusing situation worse.

Do I attempt to reset the old box or send it back in the courier bag, or enjoy the non existent new box they say they sent.

I spoke to two people in VF and am now in limbo. No one knew what to do. They have booked a callback within two days. Waiting.

Ponders - I wonder how many packets of TimTams it would take as incentive to get a version of Android running on the old box?

PM sent. Many thanks for any input. I’m sure there will be many more that will have the same issue soon not wanting to keep Sky or have their for billing but still wanting their FTA.
