Thanks Ivan - one of each,Wifi and Ethernet. Have tried them on the other, no joy. It looks like some sort of issue with connecting to Vodafone.

You didn't by any chance make the mistake reseting them when asked to during the recent gloabl Vodafond outage of Vodafone TV. If so then I suggest removing them from the VTV online devices and restarting which should if Vodafone still supports it register them as a new device. By the way you may need to do this on ethernet connection rather than WiFi.

Thanks Ivan, appreciate your advice.  You are correct, I did "make the mistake of resetting them....". Just following instructions! Lesson learnt.

I can't access my VTV account, looks like it's registered to an old work email, and I don't recall the password. Will maybe try ringing VF about that if i can find the strength.

Thanks again for your wisdom.

Just realised the Vodafone TV remote can be linked to many of the AndroidTV boxes like the Nvidia Shield...so some of the gear can get repurposed

I got my pre-order (for the basic Sky Box that doesn't need a satellite dish) confirmed on 20th October.... since then nothing.... Am I being too impatient?

Think yourself lucky to have got that far - most of us haven’t even had the opportunity to order anything yet.

I suspect we’re many weeks (and possibly even months) away from any of the new Sky hardware actually being available and shipped.

What a shambles. Heads need to roll from the Sky Leadership. At this juncture the shareholders(disclosure: I am a Sky Shareholder) should ask that the business be offered for sale and hopefully a new owner can spring clean and sort this mess out.

Forget new set too boxes, keep the current one for those with bad net and do the rest of the country with an App based service

We have a Vodafone TV box which was previously on account with our broadband (not standalone) until billing got handed over to Sky.

We have now moved away from Vodafone and HFC to Vocus Fibre and the Vodafone TV box still works (billed through Sky directly) awesome!

I just got an email from Sky to pre-order the new equipment, so things are finally starting to move.

Their latest email said they expect to ship the new Sky devices from late January 2023 but I wouldn't put money on it.

I just received an email after pre-ordering that said “We estimate Sky Pods will be couriered to you in November, we’ll let you know an estimated shipping date nearer the time”.

Hopefully, that’s just one thing they forgot to update after the dates slipped, and not an omen for delivery in November 2023 😉

LOL. That is interesting. Perhaps the Sky Pods are more readily available than the Sky Boxes.

Hopefully it is November 2023, so us VTV Freeview users get an even longer extension before the service finally stops.

Sorry to join this conversation late.
Will Sky offer an equivalent to VTV Freeview standalone service?
I know they have the Sky Pod on their website which mentions on-demand playback - question will this be offered as a standalone solution or do you have to purchase one of their Sky TV packages.

I'm only interested in the Freeview aspect with playback capability.
