hi there

has anyone been able to put the Vodafone DN8245X6-10 into bridge mode so that I can use another router to handle everything except the VDSL connection?

I've seen the guide for the HG659 and tried adapt the setting from this but haven't been successful in doing this

thanks for your help on this

Thanks Shaun

Hi typically the Voda firmware does not expose those features, do you have a screen shot of what options there are on the appropriate interface page.

did you find this reference of interest

http://help.vodafone.co.nz/app/answers/detail/a_id/32174/~/vodafone-dn8245-modem-%7C-step-by-step-guides

Is bridging, telnet or SSH supported out of the box?

Bridge Mode is supported, however Telnet and SSH are not.

i had a poke round and couldn't find much info myself

I have managed to login as admin and been able to create another WAN connection, but unsure what to do with the LAN ports binding or hwto get "back" to the router if needing to change settings in the router

goal to use my r7000 currently running merlinwrt as the main router

Thanks Shaun

above settings in the picture worked with the additional steps of: turning off DCHP Server & deleting other default WAN connections so that it only uses the new connection details, reboot and R700 picks up internet etc

anything else I should be doing for this setup?

Thanks Shaun

Hi, no your done all you need, as for the interface bindings, normally I leave them all unticked which means any are available. You dont need to delete the other WAN interfaces, but no harm if you have.

Hi there,

Do you mind sharing how you got admin level access please?

Any reference online is non-existent.
