I wonder - who are these tweets for? From all three brands I mean?

And sure, this is all harmless fun, but behind each tweet there's supposedly a social media person who is executing social media strategy, with a whole chain of brand executives and managers overseeing it. Why? What is this supposed to achieve?

@Kookoo Don't read into them so much and just take them at face value!

Sure it’s in fun, although doesn’t add any value… I doubt you’d manage to sway any customers across (at most low single digits). Companies and Twitter can really be a mixed bag.

Be engaging in this banter, they are trying to project a curated social media personality, aligned with their brand.  The success of that is subjective.

My first thought was that it sounds a bit racist....like the One nation party /  Pauline Hanson, or something that Donald Trump would have come up with.

Telecom were more onto it with Spark.

New Zealand is not one race, rather, we are a mixture.

Who knew there was so much that could be read into a number. You'd think they had gone for 666

I had a chuckle at them, These are obviously jokes and a bit of banter.. Some people are way too ready with conspiracy theories and jumping to conclusions.

This type of content is nothing new from social media accounts for companies.

Maybe they should have gone back to BellSouth or maybe go with Bell Aotearoa instead.
