@Moahunter ... where are you?

I've got spare RJ11 to RJ11 cable, or an RJ11 to BT adapter .... either will do the job.

Going over to this service from fibre but I cannot connect my "landline" phone. The input on the modem is RJ12(?) but my phone terminates in a BT connecter. Is there any adapter? I can't find one.

Btw the modem is a Deco X58-4G.

Why do you need a landline?

What does it matter? They’ve asked for help getting it working, not to justify why

@Rickles

I'm in Wellington. Seems like the RJ11 to BT adapter Suggested bt Teledata is the obvious, most direct solution.

It matters imho because whenever I meet someone with a landline connected, and I ask why they still have one - nine times out of ten the response is "I don't know".

And sometimes the easiest fix is ditching the landline.

Another good reason to do this would be to prevent scam calls.

I love scam calls. Makes my day.

But I don't get out very much.

Decided not to change from Fibre to Wireless. But left without landline for day and a half because OneNZ had already re-ported that service. Back to normal now, waiting for return bag.

When I discovered loss of landline yesterday morning thought it was a tech. problem. Discovered real reason when I spoke to someone in Christchurch. Understood my reason for switching from Fibre to Wireless was saving of c. $20 a month but commented that I might find the switch less reliable than Fibre service!!!
