Jvipers2: Try calling them and have a chat...I have experienced a better counter offer when talking to a real person about termination of service

They'll just transfer you around endlessly to get you off the phone and onto the next call.

That is definitely not my experience when speaking to their Retention team around 18 months ago.

Got the email today. Only been on it for about three months.

"We're getting in touch to let you know that your mobile plan for 021.......... is being retired. You'll soon be moved to our new Endless Plus plan which comes with a whopping 50GB max speed data, for $70 a month."

Don't use anywhere near the current 15GB limit, so looks like a $5 increase to get an extra 35GB that won't be used.

Finally just received the email. I'm not thrilled about the price increase but happy with the data increase as I can get through the 15gb, particularly as I follow a lot of European based sport which happens overnight/early morning here so I often watch things on the train to work.
Might flick them a message pointing out the equivalent plans from Spark and 2 Degrees provide more data and ask if they can do anything to match them. Nothing to lose.

I got the email today and called the number provided. Wee while on hold but not horrid. I outlined that I have no use for more data and suggested they look at overall spending ($266 a month) as unhappy. I was offered a few options like pre-pay, but I explained why I was not interested (my sister is blind, so we cannot risk it). I have been offered a "discount for x months" that I am happy with, which is more than the increase. I asked for them to send it in writing. When asked if they could help with anything, I said to tell your team meetings/manager that not everyone wants or has use for endless data.

As predicted - my monthly plan rolled over, then BAM! email is received.

Like others, I am unhappy with an increase in price, but when the companions are remaining at $35 each and we all benefit from the additional 35GB of data each, which they both would use fairly easily and I'll manage to use when I am commuting back to the office, I can see this as a break even of sorts.

If there are any other nasty surprises this year though...I'll be shopping around.

Or with so many cheaper options and more data with their competitors one.nz are starting to bleed customers.

I asked on their live chat if there’s anything they can do to make the new plan more attractive than switching to Spark or 2 Degrees who offer more data at a lower price, and they said they will request the retention team call me back but they do not offer any price matching. I’ll update if I hear anything but not expecting anything more than a “sorry you feel that way” kind of response. No harm in asking the question though.

@invisibleman18

One.nz seems determined to rip off their customers no matter what.

We've received notification today that our Endless Team plans are getting a big data boost.  While not the same as the OP's consumer plan change, this change to business plans is likely a part of the same strategy One NZ are executing.

Kia ora

Happy New Year! We're kicking off the new year with a bang, of the max speed data kind.

From 28 January, the max speed data allowance on your Endless Team Plan Medium goes up from 15GB to 50GB a month, and your Endless Team Plan Large goes up from 40GB to 150GB a month. No catch - same great price, just more data.

For us, this is unlikely to change our usage patterns as we're generally connected to Wi-Fi in the office or at home.  It's rare for us to use any notable amount of data while visiting clients.

Plans: Mobile plans for Business, with Endless Data. One NZ.  (Interestingly the Medium plan most of our team uses is not published.  The saving is only around $5 per connection.)

I only moved to One from 2D because of wearable SIM. 2D was always better value with roll over data and the ability to share my Mobile data with my iPad and I found the coverage of 2D to be on a par or better than One has been in the areas I frequent most.

If One NZ were to allow me to share this 50Gb endless with my iPad, then I would be pretty happy - as it is I pay an extra $20 a month on top for the tablet plan.

I strongly suspect I will pay off my phone early and consider a move back to 2D at some point - if they just pulled their head's out of their fundaments and sorted the wearable eSIM it would be sooner rather than later.

Took me and my companion mobiles over to Might Ape faster plan - while the special is on. I'm done with the extra cost and fluff from One.nz

They called me twice, both times I was in meetings at work and couldn't answer (typically the only 30 minutes on 2 different days that I was unavailable). The second voicemail said they were closing my request because they had tried and failed to reach me and I've been too busy over the last few days to call back and sit on hold. Will try again this week.

Just a reminder - be sure to check your One Wallet balance before making the switch. In our case, it’s worth holding onto the number for another 12 months.
