Got mine from VFNZ, didn't know about the Apple store until it was too late.

$30 to have it tomorrow? :P

There any guarantee to get the phone tomorrow if you buy online?

Vodafone said on twitter that they will be doing Saturday deliveries for Fridays online orders. He also said if you are in Auckland, order before 11am and pay another $25(?) then they will to same day delivery.

So short answer - most likely if you order from Vodafone, pretty unlikely if you order from Apple.

Yeah, I ordered from Vodafone but there was no mention of Saturday deliveries only Friday deliveries for Auckland.

Ah well, no hurry

Have been told by MagnumMac Wellington that I can't buy a 3GS outright ... due to the Vodafone restrictions I have to (a) be an on-account customer, (b) have the on-account SIM card with me, (c) be able to produce proof of ID including date of birth.

Seems like Voda aren't terribly interested in treating customers like .... well, customers.

As I didn't have all the tools necessary to jump through the Voda hoops, I left without spending a cent with MagnumMac. And this display of unbridled corporate arrogance - "How do we know you're actually a customer? Prove it!" - has me one step away from moving all the company's connections to XT.

Well, if they're going to restrict it to on-account customers only then they should be confirming you are the account holder. That is standard.

This information was publicly available prior to today. If you wanted to buy the phone outright you had to do so online.

scho047: I rather get it direct from apple then to give my money to customer unfriendly vodafone :P

but then again i might just get it while im in aust next week! :)

You do know that the warranty is void if it is not serviced in the country where you bought it from though. iPhone doesn't have international warranty like other Apple products.

I hardly think that publishing the information ahead of the date excuses what is nothing more than poor customer service and arrogant corporate behaviour.
