Is the DSL usage meter working for anyone yet? I still only get email options when I try to open it.

Are you using your account number or username@clear.net.nz as the log in? The latter seems to have limited functionality. Use your account number and you'll have full access to the Customer Zone section :>

When I try to use my account number it rejects the password. I've noticed that the little help popup thingy says that my password should be 7 or 8 characters. Mine is not, is that possibly causing an issue?

Hopeless, says I've used 10GB exactly (for period ending last night) and added another 10 on. So there's goes $12 down the drain - today's the first day of the billing cycle, so there's a donation for them. Screw this.

Dear Telstra,

I'm tired of having to monitor usage closely and put extra effort into restricting normal usage so I don't end the billing period on 31GB and end up paying for 4x10GB packs.. 9GB of which I didn't use.

Routing to Australian gaming servers (eg: Internode) via Hong Kong is insane.

With the new customer zone profile system I now have to go through 4 pages to get to the usage meter, it seems odd that you've made it harder to check usage when that's probably the #1 thing of people logging to the customer zone for.

Dear Telecom,

I expect gaming and general web performance to be solid on Big Time, I won't be too hard on you about download speeds since you will be saving me over $20 per month at least and I'm perfectly happy to download large things slowly and overnight.

I look forward to spending the time & effort formerly spent on checking/monitoring/restricting data usage on gaming or talking crap on forums.

See you in 4-5 days.

I still can't access my cable usage meter.

The associate email with the profile is a bloody joke to. I've got to log into my profile, click "my email", then my click my email account which then takes me to the paradise mail login page... what's the point in that? I could have gone straight there.

Great improvements TelstraClear... NOT!

I've always thought that their internet meter was a total scam... it'll mysteriously lag on its last day, so you think you've got some room to squeeze a few more downloads, and then next minute, whamo! it's suddenly up to date and you get an friendly message to say you've blown an extra data pack. So you then think that you might as well use that data before midnight before you lose what you didn't want in the first place... inconvinently though the data packs don't provide you with any indicatation of how much data from it you have used. Next you find your into the next months data cycle and you've used already used a chuck on the new months allocation, then checking the previous months stats you see that you only every got 0.1G out of that pack you blew you money away on.

How hard is it to implement an quick to access, honest, realtime data meter? Behind the scenes it is obviously real time (or perhaps 'warped time' at the end of the month) otherwise they wouldn't be so prompt to slap you with an extra data pack.

Sigh, I have no idea what my usage meter is doing. Havent been able to check in days. Probably be charged another pack again. Growing very tired of this crap, high Aus pings, broken usage meter and stoopd "wont slow you down - charge you 10GB for 1GB" billing. Its a shame really.

Yeah, I used about 10 mb, but was charged for 10 gb - yay. I'm pretty sure I had at least 190-200 mb left on my first pack.

I would much prefer to be slowed down, then have the option of logging in (Bahahahaha) and ordering additional pack(s).

It's been working ok for me so far, but the first thing I did when I registered was make my own profile, annoyingly if you do log in with your account number and password it says to create a personal login even though I have.

Other than that though, can remove services from my account, request changes to the plans I have, and to get to my usage meter it's a matter of...

Log in, click on check usage, click on PDQ plan (ta-da!)

I think it's great that there is extra functionality, and undoubtedly they plan to improve on this and make it more customer friendly, I can see the irritation in not being able to access usage meters as per someones normal habits though.

It looks like I'll be contacting TCL tonight and figuring out why my password isn't working then.

After a bit of mucking around, it all seems OK to me. Only annoying thing is I can't bookmark directly to usage or bills, which are the two most commonly used things for me.

Also, it seems exceedingly slow considering I should in theory have a direct link to the web-server.

But haven't you seen the TV ads? Not getting slowed down *cough*and then automatically being charged*cough* once you reach your cap is superior to being slowed down!
