When you port a Vodafone prepay number to another company, what happens to the sim? Will it get another number? Can you reactivate it? What happens to the credit?

Ok, can I port another number to the sim? Or is it basically useless?

As someone who uses a few SIMs I think it's a real shame that Vodafone refuse to re-use SIM numbers (I'm sure someone must have invented some reason for this at some point - but it makes no sense to me!).

And I note that Telecom ARE allowing XT SIMs to be re-allocated - which is most useful.
