Hi all,

Anyone know of a program (or can write one) to use a connect card to convert emails to SMS...?

The kind of thing I had in mind would poll an email pop box and use the information in the subject line for the phone number and then the contents of the email becomes the txt itself,

Most be something out there like this...

;-)

Cheers and thanks
Rus

There was a free plugin for Microsoft Outlook that would forward emails to your phone via email-to-SMS gateway (which can be provided by Telecom or Vodafone at a cost per message) based on rules. I can't remember the name, but you probably could find through Google.

There are other solutions I found through Google, but all require sign-up with a third party provider and purchasing credits in advance - which may be cheaper than Vodafone or Telecom if you trust these companies.

The rule is, if this is a business requirement I would go with a robust solution and contact a mobile operator and let the business do the talk. If it is a personal thing, then do a little bit more research and you will save some money.

Thanks for that,

Just thinking of providing that ability for our clients - so would prefer to "roll our own" if possible,

:-)

Cheers and thanks
