Welcome to Geekzone...

3G phones should work without any changes for video calls and higher data speed. Phones not customised by Vodafone will not be able to access Vodafone live! specific content, such as mobile video downloads or streaming, song downloads.

Is this a parallel imported device?

thanks, i got it off trademe not realising that if its from say the 3 network in the uk it can't b used to its full potential on the vodafone network. rang motorola and they said it only good for sms and normal calls. can they be flashed with a new symbian OS?

I don't know if there's an updated Symbian OS for this handset (it depends on what version you have there now), but Vodafone NZ has no customisations for this handset on 3G. The only models that will work on VFNZ 3G are the ones listed on their pages and bought through VF dealers.
