I have just completed a 10 week motorhome trip around the area north of Auckland - up to the top. I tried to connect my HP 311 most days and when I did connect I posted speed test results on a thread in the NZMotorhome forum.

I was VERY impressed. There were many days when neither of our phones could get coverage but the netbook could.

Hi there,

can you tell me whether your netbook has 900MHz capability? Did you buy it in NZ?

Vodafone's full coverage map is available here: and you can toggle between 3G coverage (2100MHz) and 3G Extend (900MHz).

It would be good to know what kind of devices you were using and what you were seeing.

Yes the computer is a netbook with wireless LAN and WAN built in (the SIM card slots in the guts of the battery recess). It does have 3G extended coverage.
It was bought in NZ in January and I believe is exclusive to Harvey Norman.

Not sure what you mean by "Good to know.....what you were seeing"

Yep. HSPA used to come up in the HP Connection manager window
