I had my T box installed Tuesday, no problems. The next day checked the 'guide' and discovered that there was nothing shown for that day except 'please wait' but the progs were shown for the next 2 days only, Consequently a prog that I had set to record didn't happen.  Rang TCL, waited quite a while to be told by someone that they had no idea what a T box was. Wot!!! He said that he had been asked to help out on the phones as they were so busy but didn't work in that area. He went away to ask someone who said to power off the modem and  T box. It worked. ( Silly me, I should have known to have done that).

The next day I turned on, went into planner and clicked 'OK' to play a film that I had recorded the evening before and the whole screen went dark followed with a window saying 'service not available' contact TCL to resolve the problem. I tried to power off modem etc several times and nothing happened. Rang them and waited 50 mins then was told to power off moden T box etc. It worked!!!!  I decided to ask them whilst I had them on the phone how would I know whether the HD ticket had been enabled. Was transferred to someone else who wasn't sure so went away to ask someone and then came back and said it didn't look as if it had been enabled and that the HD  orders were not going through until next week and so to ring back after that. That took an hour and half. So frustrating!!! I'm almost frightened to turn it on now, wondering what else will go wrong for me.

We got a pretty funny/not funny email from TelstraClear yesterday letting us know that as an early-registered customer, we can be "amongst the first" to get the T-Box installed - the week commencing 25 October! Wow, thanks TelstraClear! Of course, being proactive about it we have it already - but so much for getting priority treatment! It's pretty insulting actually. There are people that got it installed the first or second day without being pre-registered.

Sorry Screeb, we've had unprecedented demand for the unit. How can we make it up to you?

Hi Screeb

My sentiments exactly, but to make mine even worse you should have alook at my posts on here.

I applied last Wednesday, after recieving a message on Facebook about the T-box and have spent since last Friday waisting 2.5 days waiting around home for a successful install, which still hasn't eventuated.

To cap it off I got the same email the day TCL told me that they couldn't help me any more as it was their installers problem not theirs. Go figure that one out?

But I must admit and give them credit for, I have had a couple of real helpful replies today from TCL via Geekzone promising me a rapid resolution to my install problems. So here's hoping it will be up and running by Monday, otherwise My Sky will be up and running by Wednesday.

Cheers Paul.

Thank you, it's nice to have responses from TelstraClear on this, but TelstraClear still should have set aside this "priority" installation time for when the T-Box was launched, not a month afterwards. Demand wouldn't stop that.

Well I wasn't after anything, but being put on the 100Mbps trial would be nice :P

But seriously, I would hope that people like kiwipawl would get something to make up for it as he obviously has far bigger issues!

Hi tim, good to have a regular tcl response here, something that has been lacking in the past.
Good luck with the rest of your installs, and public be patient, its worth the wait, had mine 5 days, only minor teething issues, just like my sky also had when it first released.

Have you thought about doing the same deal as sky have at the mo? Free sport till the end of the Games? Get people hooked on HD sport?

Just curious where all the people are that are having the long install delays.  Is it Wellington?

I guess I got in before the rush?  I ordered last Thurs and got it installed on Friday. My mother ordered it Sunday evening and got it installed Tuesday.  My sister ordered it Monday and was supposed to get it Thursday, but the installer apparently "called in sick" and is now supposed to be getting it Saturday/tomorrow.  We're all in Chch.

I have the HD ticket.  I'm going to try it for a few weeks, but I'm probably going to cancel it.  At least till more of the channels are HD.  I appreciate that TC give us the three main channels for free.  That's nice.  But it does mean that you are left paying $10/mo for the four premium channels.  I only get the sport package, so that means I'm actually paying $10 for only two HD channels, and I don't think it's really worth it.  It would be nice if the HD ticket was half price if you don't get both - or perhaps have "Sport HD" and "Movies HD" packages instead.

I was supposed to be installed on Thursday morning, but they never arrived or called. I phoned TCL at 12:30 (who transferred me to Downer) and they said the installer had gone home sick and they were going to try to get another installer to come in the afternoon. Late Thursday they called to say they couldnt get another engineer to do my install. They said they'd rescheduled to have it installed Friday afternoon.

On Friday afternoon I waited at home. When it hit 4:30 I called to ask them if the install was going to happen that day, and they said no, and said something about it being the same problem as yesterday and mumbled something about provisioning server being down and nobody is getting installed at the moment. I then asked them when my install would happen, and she said she didnt know. She said they'd know sometime next week.

I wasnt pissed off enough to give her a hard time over it, but it was disappointing all the same. I've basically spent two days at home waiting for the installer, and I have no idea when my install would go ahead.

Hi BigBadabomm

I got in early as well I actually rang the first day it was announced on FACEBOOK. The TCL operator was surprised I knew about it and wanted to know how I found out about it so quickly.

I guess I couldn't be any earlier than that?

I am in Kapiti.

re the HD ticket - I agree $10 is a lot for two channels if you don't subscribe to the movies as well, makes you think what they will charge if and when discovery etc etc get added

I have a feeling the HD ticket price is set by Sky not Telstra. pop over to the Sky forum area for some wonderful hate er sorry threads at Sky re both the lack of HD channels and that the games are in SD.
