6 months free HD ticket? Is that as a compensation for installation difficulty? I know free installation for October.

No because I was a new TV subscriber I got given the six months HD ticket.
I was told that on Friday on the phone - using that too woo people from Sky - We havnt discussed anythoing about the installation as its not complete yet.

I think he was referring to my comment about Downers Stopping and then TC saying no instalations are still happening.

They will stilll happen - but obviously a few more minor hiccups with so many customers being provisioned all at once.

The installer said he has had a box for 4 months thinks its great - a couple of very minor bugs - as mentioned else where sound not going change chane back and the fixed.

Mine may be working by the time I get home - fingers crossed

Anyone else receiving static on Sky sport 2? ITM cup - Could be a coincidence but that was a HD feed.
Tech said installs are on back on and happening from tomorrow. He rebooted - received some more updates - told him not to change out the box and will do some testing tonite with other HD feeds.

We also tried the RCA ports in case it was the hdmi or optical out causing the static, no improvement.

Was very impressed witht HD picture though - Can't wait for NRL/ITM this weekend now!!! Hopefully not watching it on mute - lol

Just had ours installed today. It was delayed 3 hours or so due to the problem mentioned earlier. It took about 20 minutes to turn on (from flicking it on to it showing something on the TV) for the first time, and about 10 minutes more to scan for channels and whatnot.

We are seeing "fireflies" (random white pixels) among other several-pixel splotches (coloured) almost constantly. This is only on actual TV content, not the HUD, and appears on every channel, which means it's either on TelstraClear's side, or in decoding on the box. These are not typical video de/encoding artifacts. The tech didn't stick around long enough for us to notice and inquire about it.

We also get TV3 (possibly others, didn't check) occasionally freezing for half a second or so. Sometimes just the sound cuts out, sometimes just the picture freezes, sometimes both (I think).

Anyone else having these issues?

Dawg: Anyone else receiving static on Sky sport 2? ITM cup

On Friday after my install, I noticed this with an ITM Cup game on SS2 as well.  I reported it to TC and they confirmed it was their end, not the box.  Or at least they confirmed it was a problem they were also seeing.

Just confirmed that this is occurring on all channels, not just 3.

Oh. BTW if you weren't sure, you can put your T-Box to standby and it will record scheduled recording without having it turned on (blue light) - as long as it is plugged in to the main, and modem is powered on as well.

I had it installed today and also experiencing the same sound issue, happening every 5-10 seconds. Hopefully they resolve it soon!

Tech was extremely frustrated this morning with the issues... he wasted 3 hours trying to get it working and then had to come back at 3pm to finish the install. One interesting thing he mentioned is that the units actually have a larger HDD than advertised...

Good to know it's not just me.

I'm guessing this is just that the hard drives are 320GB, since that's a typical 3.5 inch HDD size, whereas you generally only see 300GB in drives like the 10,000 RPM VelociRaptors. The usable size is about 300GiB (after formatting and the difference between GB and GiB), which is what they're advertising it as I guess (since most people use GiB when talking about file sizes, but call it GB).

Should be getting 2 installed here on Thursday. Fingers crossed there aren't any problems.

Anyone know if we'll be able to order pay per views on the t-box? I know we couldn't with the digital stb.

Yes to ppv - called nows good,

ststic gone from SS2 later on last night - Was busy las nite didn't get much play time - but impressed so far - there doesnt seem to be alot of communication between the techs installing and TCL - with that static problem they were telling him to swap the box out - he wasnt keen didnt think that was the problem or me - He was happy for me to keep testing and then ring tcl direct with feedback.

What do you mean you couldn't order PPV on ADB Digital TV STB? It is possible as I've done that few times when I was using ADB.
