i have had the misfortune of purchasing this from my friend - who used to be a xnet + vfx user.

i am not sure if it is the router or my line. but the adsl will randomly disconnect and reconnect itself again.
sometimes, the router even emits a click sound and reboots itself completely...

any ideas why it is doing this? i've read posts about it over but overheating but when i touch any surface of the unit it is just slightly warm - i.e. it feels normal. just to be safe i have placed it on its side.

oh and i am using it with slingshot naked dsl just fyi

Thank you :)

Try a different power supply (but same ratings). Most modem power supplies has the same ratings and are interchangeable (but check). Best to us a multimeter to confirm the connector polarity.

After a few years my power supply packed up. It happens. There are virtually no company that manufactures their own power supplies, it is not the same quality as the modem itself.

Perhaps you could also move this to the slingshot forum as if the connection is dropping it has nothing to do with WorldxChange... Mods could you move this please

Niel is spot on.

I had exactly the same problem on exactly the same model of router about a month ago. After thinking about it for a few minutes, I decided to try a different power supply - end of problems.

You need a power supply capable of outputting >1A @ 12V DC. You can pick a new one up from somewhere like Jaycar Electronics for around $27. Dick Smith don't stock a power supply capable of this.
