I just got this txt from Vodafone:

"To Help you keep in touch with friends and family through this time in Chch you now have an extra $35 credit on yr account. To check ur balance TXT BAL to 777"

I logged onto MyVodafone and sure enough there was an extra $35 on my account.

Nice Thanks Vodafone.

Anyone else get this?

I am on account and was given 120 minutes extra. I try not to use my phone though to relieve pressure on the network.

There's definitely no need to concern yourself with overloading the network anymore.

Oh ok thanks for that! I know that the power is mostly back on but I thought there may have been damage to the cell towers...

There seems to be no 3G at the moment, anyone else noticed this?

I had intermittent 3g issues when I was down there over last two weeks.

But seemed quicker than my XT device.

Totally irrelevant to the topic, but I wonder why, when that message is only 126 characters (so plenty of room to write full words),  they are using txt speak like ‘yr’ and ‘ur’ and place of  ‘your’  (not even consistency since they are both replacing the same word); yet do not use txt speak for things like ‘through’ (‘thru’) or ‘you’ (‘u’).

just seems a bit odd to me.

Any ideas?

3G in Riccarton is dodgy as, data just doesn't work. Data in the CBD is rock solid though.
