I'm on the smart plan.. 13 days left on the month and I've used 339mb.

Thing that irks me the most is only 300 TXT messages.. however I have 1000 Pxts (who sends PXTS these days anyway?) would prefer the allocations were reversed.

Check out my LPFM Radio Station at www.thecheese.co.nz - Now on iHeart Radio, TuneIn and Radio Garden

Assuming that your phone and the other phone your are sending the message to support it, just send the message as a pxt. You don't need a picture to make it a pxt It also means you can have a seperate subject line, special fonts etc.

My wife and I both have iPhone 4's.

Have been sending a photo since there seems no other way to send a pxt... Jury is still out as to wether it sends one pxt or a pxt with photo and an SMS with text in it separate. Anyone know?

MMS includes text, unless it's an iPhone related point of difference, which wouldn't be that unusual I guess

Its just the MMS, it is separate to SMS. There is one MMS used per message, SMS does not come into it.

...the guy in the VF store told me I should buy it on Smart3 (@$199) and then I could change to Smart1 in 6 months with no penalty.

I seem to recall the guy in the shop telling me (albeit several months ago) that you could only drop down 1 level at a time.

I, too, was suspicious. I got him to write it on the invoice and sign it to make sure I wasn't going to get screwed in September...

Has anyone actually done this that can confirm it is doable?

Looking at http://help.vodafone.co.nz/app/answers/detail/a_id/6568 it seems that it is indeed doable, but it would be nice to confirm.

Sounds like a good idea to sign to smart 3 plan and then change to smart 1 or 2 but there is a catch:
If you move to a different plan you will not be eligible for the offer of double calling minutes.

My wife has been using smart 1 for almost two years and has never gone over the 250mb using a 3GS.
