If its a bad as some say on here might look cancelling it before they install.

As you will see there has been a software update yesterday. I think this update is a bit new for people to comment too much on yet.

Up until the update you will notice that the number of posts here has reduced quite a lot. If I didn't already have a T-box I would get one. But in saying that my experience lately has been relatively painless - with a reboot about once a month.

Your choice I guess.

We did just that at the start of the year, and deeply regret it. The Pace MySky HDi box is vastly superior to the T-Box. Even with t-box rental being free I wish I was back on Sky.

I would cancel that install as fast as you can.

Surely you guys can take them to court for breach of contract due to poor service as they are not keeping their part of the contract. Has been done before in the UK unless NZ has very different Consumer laws.

Yes, Kiwi, I noticed a problem free night last night,too. And that stuttering has been the only bad aspect of the service for me over the last few months, really.

Much better than my experience with MyFreeview on another TV, but I think the problems are due to the old aerial I have.

Cuts the last few minutes off shows on a regular basis, regular stuttering and pixellation, regular "failed recordings" saying there were scheduling conflicts even when it's the only program due to be recorded in a timeslot.

The thing is utter garbage.

1. change the padding buffer from 0 and it wont cut programs off
2. the shuddering/pixelation seems to have been fixed with the latest update, although it may be too early to tell.
3. Never had a schedule conflict that wasn't a 'real' one... sorry.

I agree it is not perfect but utter garbage is a bit harsh.

Until I realised that changing the padding buffer did not change existing series linked recordings (found out in these forums) I was ready to toss the thing out. If my wifes Coro St recordings are all good tomorrow and friday night then I will be keeping the box for sure. If they are still nearly unwatchable then I will be sending it packing (they were pretty bad quality - talking about the picture mostly!). Have only had the box for six weeks but I have found it pretty good apart from the dodgy recording of Coro.

Yeah it's a bit silly that padding is only for subsequent recordings. I wish they would allow a pre and post recording buffer too. Having the same buffer at the start is a bit of a pain because you have to fast forward so far.

I have never had any issues with picture quality be any different from the original program but I can't say I have ever recorded Coro either. Might record it tomorrow so I can check it and post my findings. I assume the live program quality looks ok? Also if it is still bad you might want to check signal strength of you tuners because live tv is on a separate turner to the two recording ones. To do this just record two programs and during the recordings check the tuners (somewhere under settings). The top one is the live TV tuner, the other two are the recording tuners. They should all be about the same level. 70 something from memory.

Oh ok - my signal strength usually hovers around 74-75. I remember asking the tech if that was ok. I vaguely remember him saying it was perfect. He said that if it was too high it would cause picture issues. I could be wrong. I remember that the comment made absolutely no sense to me at the time and just seemed wrong.

Gary - can you comment on this at all?

Just had to have my T-Box replaced after update yesterday caused HDCP issues and loss of sound although just periodically. Was told that software on t-box was dodgy an had to be replaced, but new box had the same issues and I believe this is probably due to my connection running through my Amp to my TV. Although would like to point out that TV and Amp are brand new only one week old and all software/drivers on them is up to date - Guy would serviced the t-box stated that update was thought to be going out at the end of Oct but apparently was released early? My suggestion to anyone that has this problem is to wait 30 mins and sound appears to come back - if you replace like I do, you do lose all recordings and will still get the same problem.

Thankfully, my problem after the update is much more minor, but I did find that the stuttering seemed to be kicked off again last night at the end of one recording and the beginning of another. It seemed to go on for longer than previously noted. On the other hand, when just watching and recording as usual earlier, there was no stuttering, as there used to be.
