Ive noticed this too, lots of recordings are stopping prematurely even though I've increased the padding settings but the buffer before the programme seems fine.

The wife and kids aren't happy, grrrrrrrrrr!

I recall that if you are changing the buffer padding, you had to delete all your series links and planner bookings, and create them afresh in order for the new paddings to be included.
I don't remember if this requirement has changed with any recent software updates, but I may be wrong.

The only time I loose padding is when I am recording multiple back-to-back events, which is terrific, because previous versions would fail one of the recording as a schedule conflict, as the paddings were included in the scheduling calculations. Now, if recorder-one is recording 10 hours of tennis and recorder-two records two discovery channel episodes one after the other, the recorder-two gives me both episodes with the first episode having a padding at the front, and the second episode having the padding at the end. Very happy with this.

I can also confirm that the 7 hour recording limit has been fixed, as I'm getting all of the 10 hours plus padding of tennis now.

Only one niggle, the TBOX still does not auto-extend recording when an event runs overtime.
The tennis for instance, is scheduled from 9pm to 6am, but regularly runs until 6.30am or even 7.30am.
Sky users get all of this (confirmed with a sky suing friend). I on the other hand, have to manually book the event following the tennis in order to cover the tennis overrun.

I am still getting momentary picture freezes on differenct channels just about every night, but I guess
I am not alone with this annoying effect. Also, I thought my pixellation problem had been fixed but am
still getting that occasionally. According to the technician the only other thing to try is a replacement of
the T/box as they only last about 12 months?.  I can't see the point in getting a refurbished T/box which
will probably not fix the problem?. I am sorry we ever got rid of the digital decoder, although not as
versatile it very rarely gave any trouble. Thats my moan for the holiday weekend!!.

Yep, fog, still getting pixellation and stuttering here, too, but I'm also of a mind to just put up with these little annoyances, thinking that a replacement box would be the same.  Complete crashes seem to have come to an end here now.

We haven't had complete crashes for a while either so it looks as though
that has been fixed. I hope I haven't put the jinx on it. I am inclined to agree with you, we will put up with
these glitches in the meantime. However, at times I feel like ditching the T/Box and getting the digital decoder back if that is a possibility.

You almost certainly have ;-)  I posted a similar comment and my box froze a few days later. I'd never got beyond 10 days of continuous service till the update, but my new record is 3 weeks. Alas, I initiated a recording last night (with nothing else scheduled) and awoke to find it frozen. Stuttering (as in the picture freezes for several seconds) on recordings is now a regular occurrence.

Well at least we are not the only ones getting this stuttering but I am not sure that that is of any consolation. On one occasion when we got this stuttering I reversed the tape and it was ok on the replay. Not sure what that means.? This hasn't worked on other occasions though.

The stuttering isn't confined to playing recorded content, ours regularly does this during live TV

My brother was telling me during the weekend that their T-Box is now rock solid, they had a lot of issues and had to reboot it every day to get it to connect to their TV via HDMI, they had freezing and pixelation etc. However since the last update it has settled down and is trouble free, he has not rebooted it for close to a month.

Sounds like, those who signed up for T-Box when it was first released are on a bad batch of boxes. TC told me I need to replace mine but I'm in two minds as all our recordings would be lost... :(

We're still rebooting once, sometimes twice a week since the last update.

Well our T-Box has been acting worse than ever! In the space of 48 hours it crashed 3 times. Also we had another failed recording due to a "schedule conflict" when there was none! I never use the padding buffer to avoid the chance of schedule conflicts and even if there was a conflict it should have warned me when setting up the recordings. What I think happened was normally a 30 minute programme records for 29 minutes but when looking at the recorded programme just before the crash it said it had recorded for 30 minutes so somehow this has caused an overlap. This is my theory anyway - still waiting to hear back from Telstra.

Wasnt someone collecting T/box model / serial info to see if these problems are result of bad batch(s).??

I just dont understand how some people have continuing problems but other like me have had  a very good run.

Yet more freeze ups.  Without a doubt this has been the worst week ever as far as our T-Box goes.  Think we are finally ready to switch to MySky so now need to find the best option with Sky and Internet.  I'm just not looking forward to changing my email address for everything I have ever signed up with!
