I was about to sign up for this, then I read this forum, and wow telstra you suck. I'm an existing customer and want sky (I don't care if its mysky or T-Box) the new packages look good except the bit where you want $299 from existing customers........wtf?

I can get sky (with a standard decoder) installed for free, then I walk into Harvey Norman and get them to upgrade me to mysky for free.....Plus a few free PPV movies.

Your $299 or $199 option blows this way out of the water, plus I only have to sign up for 12 months with sky.

I'll keep your 20GB broadband for now, but even that might go soon.

Dissapointed Telstra.............. dissapointed.

We have been a loyal customer for years and never defaulted on a payment and yet they won't give us the box for free.

$299 for existing loyal customers and you give it to new customers for free? This is absolutely disgraceful Telstra.

Really?... Are Telstra saying $199 install fee to come and plug in a box to existing customers isn't a complete ripoff? I can't believe all the charges for essentially noting. First there is full charge for national internet traffic, then $25 per month just because it's your second decoder (should be a discount not an extra charge) and now $199 "install" fee when there is no install needed other than possibly plugging a new box in.

I have recently moved from Telecom and Sky to Telstra Clear at the normal "retail" up front rates and do not care about this offer coming soon after, why? luck of the draw.

When I was with Telecom and Sky they made offers on a regular basis to attract new customers that were not extended to existing customers, it happens all the time in just about all sectors of commerce.

Yes it's a ripoff but that's what these short sighted customers do.

Just move to Sky and in a couple of years Telstra will have a "winback" offer and will bribe you to move back again.

Treat it like a game and you'll have fun.

You might even get offered what you want as a retention offer when you tell Telstra to disconnect you.

When I was on Sky it was from memory install $199 and either $599 up front or $15 per month for the MySki Box to upgrade from the Standard Digital Service to MySki HDI
