We're trying to install some Exchange email software "Good for Enterprise" on some users Android phones which relies on the IMSI number on the SIM card which is supposed to be unique to identify the user. Both Prepay SIMS have the same (too-short) IMSI code on them of 530011 though. Is this normal?

A Telecom SIM I have here starts with 530051 (53005 being XT's MCC/MNC code) but is the full 15 digits.

Also, why is the "My number" field not set on the SIMs? All the NZ Telco's seem not to do this so they have to be manually set via a phone that supports writing this field, which most phones don't do. It's not often anything needs it, but a couple of phones I've had have made use of it for self-ID purposes.

All IMSI's on Vodafone NZ are 15 digits,

The reason why ' My number ' field is not set from default is cause many people lose SIMs and then get a blank replacement.

I experimented with some other phones, it looks like this device  (bought at a local VF store) isn't capable of reading the full IMSI field, regardless of the network the SIM is for. Probably a software issue but currently it's the stock VF firmware.

I've got 4 SIMs here (2 VF, 1 XT, 1 2D) from brand new accounts with new numbers, none of them had the "my number" set in them. Doesn't matter, just an observation.

I've confirmed that this is an issue with at least the Samsung Galaxy Ace S5830 and the Samsung 551. The Galaxy Tab and Galaxy S are not affected however.
