aengusj: Ok..so where are the new plans?...I switched away from Xnet cause the cost per mb was uncompetitive and I got a better deal at Slingshot. However, while the data quantity is great at Slingshot...their throttling is not. So, if a decent plan were offered at Xnet I'd consider moving tolls and broadband back - even if it was slightly more expensive. $1.28 per gb does not cut it though and is a pretty good incentive to stay where I am :/

Moved away because the new plan was cheaper. But then it's not so cheap when it doesn't perform as well, right?

Good and bad with slingshot - but i'm not complaining...just looking for the 'before-xmas' plans that xnet were promising to see how they compare to what they have now. If better (imho) than slingshot I'll consider moving, if not, I won't...pretty simple really

Thank you, but 4-8 GB plans it's not the right option for me. I would like to watch online TV, for example as I did in my past life with normal broadband. I can't do it with these plans.

I like to watch Online TV too. So what I did was didn't buy sky and put that money towards a better internet plan. If you want to use your internet as internet then pay for it and stop winging. We have heard it all in this thread already.

+1.

WxC give you two options, combined with the 3 options mentioned above, and then perhaps Whoosh?

You've got plenty of options covering various speeds, levels of service and price ranges. There's plenty of people out there with less available options than you that find a workable solution.

Did you ever follow up with the property developer in regards to notification of the fibre trial status prior to buying?

Considering how long ago this thread was started and where we find ourselves now, I have to wonder how a small company such as World Exchange can be such a slow mover.
So things didn't go as planned on the eve of your announcement, that is a shame. But a month later, we still have no idea when to expect some news.

Perhaps I'm expecting too much given this is the first week of the year, but the internet doesn't take a holiday and my thoughts are very much on the year ahead. This lack of action has to be recified and this 5 year+ customer is putting you on notice.

I'm waiting as well, but my patience is starting to crack.

Over 12 months ago when I signed up to the Xnet Fusion plan (naked+VFX) for $69.95/month, this was a great deal, and each GB used was only $1.28 / GB.

I felt that this plan was ahead of the pack (rest of the NZ ISP's offering VoIP + Naked).
However I now feel Xnet/WxC have failing well behind.

Last month I used 60GB of data (normally 20-30 GB), so the bill reached $163!
I have started to research a couple of alternatives which are much cheaper!

HECK for $115 I could go back to Telecom and a standard POTS line & 60GB data, with their "Total Home Broadband" package (phone line, broadband, 60GB data, static IP)

Funny you mention this now, I am currently working through VF and 2Talk sites to begin the move.

I'm happy enough (I'm on the torrent plan), however, friends of mine have moved to Telstraclear due to the delay (well, they are booked in for the move at the end of the month). There does seem to be a large number of people making noises about moving, and, to be fair, the prices are not competitive due to the new plans that have been released by other isps.

If I wasn't on the torrent plan, I would probably be looking around too, despite the great service that I have received from Xnet.

Well I'm in the same boat I'm on the Torrent plan so have 75gig a month off peak but still use typically 20 - 40 on peak as well my bills range from $100 - $140 per month which as others have mentioned is a lot more than what others can do it for.

Especially since this month I'm already at 50 gig of my 75 gig off peak and 20 gig of billable data it's going to be a expensive start to the New Year.

Can anyone from WXC please advise how much longer we might be waiting or even maybe a hint at what we might be waiting for as this way us faithful will know it's not all in vain (hopefully).

Yeah - we need to get something soon; we have been waiting a considerable amount of time for these new plan/pricing releases...we can wait only so long - and you can bet that while we might be moaning about it, others have just moved on immediatly.
