Thanks - they certainly have competitive pricing. I wonder if anyone can tell us how they're finding customer service so far?

Digging up a post from years ago isn't very helpful and doesn't provide a fair perspective - yes that happened but it is in the past.

If you read more recent posts around here things seem to have picked up and their customer service is much better than a few years ago.

disclaimer: i used to be a HD customer a few years ago but i am no longer - never had any problem with their service.

jtbthatsme: Option 1 is nice but stuffed if I would pay $100 for 100 gig at any time.

I'm a bit confused, are you saying that you think $100 for 100GB is a bad deal!?

I didn't really state that well it is in reference to the 2nd 100gig costing $100 as well. There is no way that the cost for that should be the same as the 1st 100 gig.

I am on the Torrent plan so have 75gig free off peak but still manage to get my bills up around $120 - $150 per month with WXC due to a lot of online videos being watched by the kids (youtube) and also gaming (through Xbox and Steam) not just the kids lol).

I am about to move from WXC to give the Hosting Direct VDSL 100G a go. A week has past since the cut over was supposed to happen but HD are blaming the delay on Chorus who think the ASID is incorrect, whatever that means. I figure if it is no good I can always move elsewhere.

Wonder if the new plans will include VDSL2 offerings?

Damn, I really hope so!!!  I'd really like VDSL, but currently I can't justify the additional cost :(

When I asked last year I was told that the new plans would include VDSL2 plans

Those Hosting Direct plans look quite tempting. Slingshot have some tempting plans, but last time I tried to sign up with them it took them three weeks to tell me they couldn't find my phoneline. Not willing to risk dealing with muppet customer service.

Just realized their price are exclusive of GST, that's a bit deceptive.

Excluding is normal for a company that provide business services (like web site hosting), even some retailers. We just built a house with GJ Gardner and all quotes are GST exclusive.

+1 Pretty much all B2B pricing is exclusive of GST as most businesses can claim the GST back. IMO it's only deceptive if they don't clearly state it's exclusive of GST.

I'm not a business, and neither are most people on these forums looking for information about ISP's.

If they are going to target residential users they should include GST. It's reasonably clear at the bottom of the page but it should be clearer. All other ISPs include GST. Such business practices would make question whether I would want to do business with them.

At the very least they should include a "*' next to the price to indicate there are conditions on the price, the way their website designed is deceptive.
