So, February is nearly over. New plans still seem to be a lie.

Time to move to a new ISP, I have, so have many others, and I have recommended to friends as well.
There are cheaper alternatives.

I haven't read all 20 pages, but is VFX getting new cheaper pricing? I'd switch if so.

I'd highly doubt it, $11.50 is pretty low and I'd be surprised if they made much profit on that as it is!

I wasn't talking about base fee's
calling rates are pretty high, and that $11.50 doesn't include any local calling

Mate, the VFX toll prices are one of the lowest around!  5c/min to any NZ national landline & the same to most popular countries & 28c to mobiles!?  That's pretty cheap!  Unlimited local calling is actually also free.

Sure, there are a few slightly cheaper providers out there, but really, to save a few extra cents is it worth foregoing the reliability & service from XNet?

Besides, who uses phones much these days anyway, Skype is free! :D

You can switch to 2talk if you want cheaper prices with the risk of inferior service and reliability.

I dont think there is a whole lot too this 'xnet has the best support around'. When you check the support announcements they certainly have their fair share, as well as comments of 'couldnt get hold of anyone'

Guys I think the thread was actually referring to WXC as a whole rather than just the VFX phone part of the service, I may have that wrong but thats how it read to me.

Well like it was pointed out above - it is now Feb....and yeah there have been a few spanners in the works etc delaying the release of anything, but I think the fact that no comments from Xnet have been placed on this thread in a while is more than enough to suggest that nothing is going to come of the supposid changes to rates

The reason there are no comments are that we posted before when we expected them to be out and it didn't happen we got kaned, so as I said before we will not post again until we can bring them out, yes they have not come about as quick as we like but that's our problem .... up yo you if you believe me or not.

I will leave you to all your conspiracy theories, but seriously if you could see what goes on and the reasons behind what happens most of you would slap your self in the foreheads !!!..... Until I started reading a lot of these posts both here on and other providers threads I never realized how paranoid people seem to be, people also seem to thing that the industry is all one big conspiracy theory and that we should explain all our business decisions and pricing models to you all, As much as we like our customers people seem to think that all providers must tell them exactly how there business works and they support those products and what we should charge.... Really

Every company knows what they want to bring to the market and we are all aware of what is available in the market, each company will bring a product offering and hope that it is something that customers will want, the beautiful thing about NZ is that you have options, you can base your decisions on price, quality, value for money and every customer is different, customers vote with there wallets and their feet and there is nothing new in this.

Rest assured we see the comments but please a lot of these conspiracy theories are pretty way off base

All I can say is sorry it's taking a while , much longer than I hopped but Bottom line is that yes new plans are coming and have been for a while , when they are released then we will tell you.

Thanks Maverick - agree with every sentiment in your post, I suppose from my perspective that it is just frustrating that these things are taking so long to come through and with each passing month the amount of money we are effectivly gifting away is starting to get silly (in comparison to other plans - all things being equal; which they never are).
I can understand people throwing in the towel and moving to other providers - if I wasn't so lazy I probably would have by now too in all honesty - but I will stick around and see if these new plans come to fruition.
