Well today is Thursday I don't see any changes on the front page to suggest that there's any new plans like they've been advertising in their outgoing stuff to customers since January.

Maverick are these changes happening this week or is it again another delay???

My guess is they're still having issues with back end/billing, if they're going to have "included data" and then $1 per gig over that.

If the included data is indeed 5 and 15GB then they'll have bigger issues than back end/billing. :/

I'm as frustrated as others here about the delays in the new Xnet plans.  However I'm pretty philosophical about it.  The way I see it - one way or another - I end up winning.  It just requires a little (or perhaps a lot of) patience.  If Xnet release their new plans and they are competitive with other ISPs, then everything is fine and I can stay where I am.  If they aren't competitive, then I will simply switch to Orcon, Snap or Telecom, and get much more data than what I'm currently paying for.  For now, though, I'm just trying to be patient.

I think, though, that the most frustrating thing has been the mismanagement by Xnet of the release of these supposed new plans.  From the customer point-of-view, they either have new plans, or they don't.  The delays look like uncertainty, or incompetence.  Xnet may simply have been very unlucky and plagued by technical and commercial issues beyond their control, but to the customer these things are largely invisible.  All that we see is a company promising one thing (albeit informally) and then failing to deliver.  I think the maxim of under-promise and over-deliver is a sound principle, and has worked wonders for other ISPs who have quietly and consistently upgraded their plans without fuss, and steadily built (or rebuilt) their reputations.  I really hope that once the plans are finally unveiled and the current debacle is in the past, that Xnet review how they approach their customer engagement.  It's great to have a company that is innovative in customer engagement, making use of social media and forums such as these to interact directly with customers.  But unless that company stewards its online presence properly, it risks a public relations nightmare such as has unfolded here.  Things could have been so much less confused if Xnet hadn't prematurely announced that itw was changing its plans before it was ready to deliver.  I think in its eagerness to respond to customer demand, it overstepped its ability to deliver, and the snowball effect of missed deadlines has undone a lot of the goodwill that Cameron and Maverick have built up here over the years.

Nevertheless, what's done is done.  I think Maverick is doing the right thing by staying out of discussions until the plans are actually being released.  Our frustration is valid, but we can only be patient and wait until Xnet resovles its issues.  And then we will vote, as always, with our wallets.

So much for Thursday then? :D Hopefully this means those rumored plans are indeed incorrect.

I feel your pain, but we have to remember, Xnet could have just stayed silent and said nothing, at which point we would be none the wiser about any potential new plans and this thread would be 28 pages shorter... You can either have a communicative company that keeps it's users in the loop about possible changes and also delays, or a company which has 0 feedback to it's users and only says anything when it's actually official... Personally, I prefer the extra communication and I suppose if you don't want to be disappointed, one way of doing that is not to watch threads like this one! :)

Just to point out it isn't just an informal announcement though, they put it on the invoice 2 months and on their Facebook/Twitter pages a few weeks ago now.

I agree with JBard as they've had new plans are only a few weeks away in their outgoing bills to customers since January this is neither keeping quiet and end of April is not a few weeks and Novembers announcement there would be a slight delay is now 6 months and not a slight delay.

I like my ISP but to tell it's customers one thing then do another is not a good way to keep them (this is not the part where you can come along and go "You can always change ISP" as that's something anyone with half a brain knows). The issue is that we get told by the company that it's happening, then it doesn't, then we get told there's a short delay and it's not short, they inform customers on their bills it's a few weeks away and it's not you do see the trend and the point I and many other frustrated customers are trying to make.

Having your own companies people tell you information about new plans when you ring them only to find they are still not available on the day they were advised they would be is not any way to encourage new customers and to constantly tell us one thing whilst doing another is not a good feeling for the current customers which is why some are venting on here.

We the customers would like to be told by our ISP the truth about when they're coming instead of lying about it it really is that simple as lets be honest if things keep going the way they have been then the attrition from all the inconsistancies and delays compared to other ISP's who have already had some pretty impressive offerings result in there not really being any business left.

So what's happening WXC are the changes happening and if so how much longer should the faithful wait or better yet was there truth in the 5 gig and 15 gig plan options???

So glad I left Xnet, they've gone from one of the best ISP's in the country to one of the worst. They're lucky Slingshot is so $hit and makes them look good.

Doooh ... this is soo like buying and selling shares.

I know that the moment I shift to SNAP, XNet will come out with their prices ... I just know it! Laughing

So, I'll pick a date of when I fill in their form, let everyone here know ... and you all hang ten for a few days and enjoy the new pricing.

Regarding the post about XNet bashing 2talk... If you had been a 2Talk customer and knew how bad it was, you would soon come to know, that it would be hard to be worse than that.
