The BlackBerry Playbook launch on Vodafone has failure written all over it. It took them 2 days to put something on their website after RIM launched it in NZ. At the moment they are only selling the 16GB version (32GB and 64GB versions were launched as well). To make things even worse they have decided to charge $100 more than the NZ RRP ($799 vs $899) as per the RIM announcement which is posted on Geekzone!

I swear Vodafone don't care about anything that isn't made by Apple. I have seen pretty much NO advertising for the S2.. I have heard they have a deal with Apple that makes it more worthwhile to sell those over anything. Which would explain their almost total lack of S2 advertising, apart from a few Facebook pages and the occasional flyer in the mail.

Website listed all 3 sizes at same price. Called and they did not know which model were selling. Told them they needed to fix website so good to see they did. Bad to see price sucks.

savag3: The BlackBerry Playbook launch on Vodafone has failure written all over it.

To be fair, you could have shortened that to "The BlackBerry Playbook has failure written all over it."

Actually I disagree. I like much more than the larger Ipad, have all the apps I need for it and love the divx playback. Also not having to pay for 2 sims and data is a big plus. Works fine with the iphone too which I get my email on so dont miss not having on the tablet atm.

Even Blackberry cut their sales targets for the device to a third of the original estimate.

I'm sure there'll be a few people who will buy one and it'll be supported for a few years before it eventually fades from view.

It basically seems like the RIM version of the Zune.
