SandyJ: Smartass .....

I agree I didn't add anything to the thread.  But really seesh, I don't think I detracted from it any either.

What is the actual problem? Does the stick connect and then just not do anything? Or not even connect? There's no doubt that there could be problems with Vodafone's service, it could be a mobile data issue etc. It's hardly relevant to the original thread topic though was my (pretty poorly made I'll admit) point.

My Vodafone mobile here (only a 2G/GPRS connection) is working just fine though, so I don't think they're having major issues. Logging on to Twitter search and searching for Vodafone is probably a better way to crowd source "is it down" information.

Fixed now, right? I was on Vodafone DSL and it was down for about 45 minutes or so the other day.

Vodafone and Telecom say they are working to fix outages on their broadband and mobile services.

Vodafone said a widespread internet browsing issue was affecting access to international websites and it believed the problem was affecting all internet service providers.

Vodafone customers reported they were unable to access sites hosted outside of New Zealand.

Telecom's website was reporting "a technical fault" affecting connectivity for its broadband customers. It is not know if the fault was the same affecting Vodafone customers.

Telecom Customers in Wellington and the lower South Island have reported their internet is down.

Some Vodafone mobile customers in Wellington have also reported problems with network congestion and slow mobile internet.

Anyone know anything about this? Did Vodafone actually say it thinks it's hitting all ISP's??

Maybe it's the government's firewalls / filters playing up....breaking access for us all on ISPs who pass their traffic through them "voluntarily".

Sssh, don't give them an excuse.
Wink

I have the black stick vodem, and today is 3rd day in a row with connection issues. It connects, then doesn't do anything. I'm in Wellington.

On the first day there was no net most of the afternoon, then that night I could only stay on for 5 minutes tops before being disconnected, so I'd reconnect every 5 mins, and this went on for hours.

Just got it back a few minutes ago. Thanks if you did something Mauricio. Been down since yesterday afternoon. Had a similar problem to IlDuce. It would connect, you could open a page.....then blank. Had Gmail at one stage, but nothing else, and we tried every trick. Will remember to use the fault page next time.

freitasm: Sorry, muppet, but how does your post help?

In absolutely no way whatsoever.

(Unless terrible humour counts for something)
