Hi,

Yesterday I noticed that my connection was running very slowly so I did a speed test and got about 0.6 Mb/s to Auckland (whether using Speedtest.net or TCL's own speed test). I assumed that it was just a temporary issue so I noted it on the Geekzone fault page in case anyone else had issues, then left it overnight.

This morning, downloads were back to normal, 12+ Mb/s on the TCL speed test.

I've just got home from work and it's back to about 0.5 Mb/s again. I'm on a cabinet and this is the first time I've had trouble since I was switched over a few months ago. Does anyone know what could cause this sort of issue?

The relevant stats:
Line Rate 14486/1176
Attainable Rate 17496/1240
Noise Margin 12.2/13.2
Attenuation 26.5/13.1
Output Power 0/12.8
Bit Errors 0/0

I'm using a master splitter and have rebooted the modem, switched from wireless to Ethernet, etc. Is there anything else I can try?

Thanks :)

Still happening today (although again, it was find this morning) so I called TCL and they don't know what the issue is. I need to send through some speed tests over the next day or so, so hopefully it'll be something easy to fix once that's been done.

Hmm. I just rebooted the modem again (although I'd already tried it) and speeds are back up to normal. It'll be interesting to see whether it slows down again.

In case anyone's following this, the connection's still working fine so it looks like it just needed that second reboot (no idea why the first one didn't work). All sorted!

As a side note, when I called TCL on the phone, I had to wait for less than 5 seconds. That's a huge turnaround from last time so it's good to see that they've worked on fixing some of the queues :)
