Wondering if any of you can help me,

I am currently on 2 Degrees and when I started using this network I had transferred my old 021 number to the network, And now I want to switch back to Vodafone because it best suits my smartphone under their brand,

I was wondering if it is alright if I activate the new Vodafone SIM and then transfer my 021 over back to Vodafone,

Will it work fine like any other number?

I did contact them and they didn't understand the question even though it was very straight forth!

Thanks all

Josh

Go into a Vodafone store and tell them you want to sign back up with them and port your number from 2degrees. They'll take care of it and before long you'll be back on Vodafone using your 021 number again - it'll work exactly like it did when you were on Vodafone the first time and like it does now on 2degrees.

On the www.vodafone.co.nz site search " number port " and there is a page on everything you need to know and the process

You say staff did not understand you! How did you ask the question? Number porting is a very basic subject

ok so I pop in the sim activate it by calling 777 and get txts, so after that I sign up to myVodafone account and then tranfer the number page, enter my details and now when I submit it comes up in yellow saying I need to activate my mobile? Whats with that, I just did that, ? why does vodafone ever be so complicated,

Have I missed a step?

I called vodafone to ask about porting, they told me it couldnt be done over the phone and the best way would be to go into a store (but also mentioned it could be done online).

I popped into a store, waited a while for a rep and he told me I had to do it online!

Did it online, was fairly easy and within the 3 hours that it said it would take and all was good until my partner tried to txt me... I can no longer receive txts from people on 2 degrees! I can still txt them fine but when they reply nothing happens, nothing arrives!

I called the help desk today and a lady told me something wasnt set up right, she would change it and all i had to do was remove the battery and sim for 30 seconds and it should work.

It didnt so i called again, had a really helpful fella who seemed amazed about my situation but said that everything looked fine and the best thing to do would be to go into a store and they could take a look at it for me.

Cant wait until they tell me i have to do it online or something.... lol

When a port is going thru it can take a number of hours for all carriers to update the required routing tables on their network, If you can't get any incoming SMS from other carriers Friday morning send me a PM with some detail and I will do some checks
