hi all , my wife is away in gisborne with no internet access she went out today and bought a vodem K3772-Z when it came time to install it it wont install as the software cant be read from the stick .... it turns out that our cd/dvd rom drive is part of the problem windows device manger is showing a yellow exclaimation mark and is reading a code 39 ... trouble is we dont have the restore disk with her and no internet access is there a way she can install the vodem software { by downloading the lastest onto a flash drive via a wiifi hotspot at say mcd's } and then installing it on the laptop to get around the two issues ... the stick isnt the problem as vodsfone tried another stick and it didnt install either ..... why does a vodem usb stick have to ahve anything to do with the dvd/cd rom drive ??

Cheers
Andrew W

The Vodem uses the auto run function to install the software / drivers,

Can they not start the software installing by browsing the drives and double clicking on the Vodafone ICON?

ummm by the sounds of it they cant access the device with the software on it ... is it possible to download the software and run it from another source { eg flash drive } rather than the vodem .

Yes you can down the Vodafone dash board software which will have the drivers included from the Vodafone NZ site

https://www.vodafone.co.nz/mobile-broadband/help-and-support/index.jsp

This is not the lite version but will do the trick, install the software with Vodem unplugged

That version of software contains much more than required, Yes it's not a small download but should get them up and running, Make sure they have admin rights on the PC as well or it will be a no go

Let me know how you get on

John I think the reason its not working is as you said its a autorun file install would I be right in saying autorun is related to the cd/DVD drive which is why its not running ? ... I will let you know how she gets on im pretty sure my wife said the guy in the vodafone shop made sure she had the drivers installed but I could be wrong . once again Im very greatfull for your hep as all my google searches turn a blank

That download contains enough drivers to sink a battle ship ;)

Just make sure Vodem is not plugged in during install of the software
