i just want to know anyone else with number 8 wireless on here ? what there speeds like, area etc ....after 6 years i have finally doubled my broadband speed by jumping onto NO 8 and no more congestion at 6pm  i am in the Gordonton area north Waikato on the  WRIMU tower at 156.63 degrees .on my  broadband connection was  getting 430kb/s now on No 8 iam on 900kb/s +.
Unfortunately they have only got the 100gb plan for $100 and $1 one gig there after which is reasonable.....if you reading this lightwire/NO 8  more is needed or at least have  unlimited period  from  1am to 7 am .....

Do you want better speeds or bigger caps? Pick one.

Wireless is a finite resource using a shared medium.

was your slower connection a dsl connection?

if so, how about keeping both connections, pumping your bulk data out the slower and everything else on your wireless connection.

you get the best of both worlds that way.

this is my wireless NO 8  speed

yeah i could keep both connection on , but i be paying for it,  NO 8  $105,  local dsl around $75 to keep ph and included  50gb  $180 all up (bit  expensive)   .  suppose that's the  price i have to pay for being  rural.
i am 5 km from the exchange by chance even if we did get vdsl don't think it benefit me much, no chance of fibre at all.
going to try the NO 8 voip  should able to get away  100gb  , if the kids dont use it all up ......

i rather have data  and reasonable speeds, with no congestion or am i being greedy lol

Is the exchange still DSL1, or has it had a ADSL2+ upgrade?

Chorus has spent $1.4 billion on making their xDSL broadband network faster. If your still stuck on ADSL or VDSL, why not spend from $150 on a master filter install to make sure you are getting the most out of your connection?

nah its still on  DSL 1   and we not even on the map for an upgrade in the near future (last time i checked ) .....even  the schools not on fibre yet ,they probably just get a direct fibre line  missing out the exchange all together.... the dsl  is  not a bad connection just after 3 pm  kids get home from there schools the speed just goes to crawling....

Piako Rd, Gordonton exchange.
I think it was originally on the mass Exchange / Cabinet upgrade program, but seems to have been missed. Don't think it's on the current RBI plan, but I have seen some exchanges that are not still receive upgrades.

you  going to hook me up to a special line ? lol  ..... got No 8 on trial for a month and they got no contracts or disconnection fees which is brilliant, so i can always jump back ,chances of  exchange upgrade  happening are next to nothing.....
