I know this question has been asked before for some other areas but I am interested in knowing if there is a way to get wireless/wired fast internet without a phone line.  I am in grey Lynn area in Auckland in a lodge building where there are no phone lines in rooms.
I have known some people using their own internet connections without phone connections in their rooms but not sure how they do it.
Any ideas?

Woosh wireless or 3G / 4G you don't mention what size data cap you require?

Thanks johnr.  I require at-least 15-20 GB of data per month.

How much are you willing to pay for that cap?

under $50 will be appropriate I think but I can pay more if there is a good amount of data cap available.

$198 for 20GB on 2Degrees

Surely you can find a better way than to do it over mobile broadband?

If you don't have a phoneline your options are Woosh or Mobile broadband options from Vodafone, Spark or 2degrees.

None of those are going to meet your stated requirements.

Only other way is to pay a neighbour for access to the net through their wifi.
