Noticed the RBI router had a different colour light for the connection. Figured 4g had come to my local tower.

Wiredly been following http://community.vodafone.co.nz/t5/Network-status/PLANNED-MAINTENANCE-Mobile/td-p/172190 closly, But no offical notice of "Tai Tapu" tower being upgraded.

But the map on  http://www.vodafone.co.nz/broadband/rural/ now shows 4g in my area (changed in the last 10 days)

House is wired with an external RBI antenna, so was surprised to find speed tests being affected.

But when running in 4g mode or "LTE prefered", the speeds for downloads is slower but upload is better, see below. Any thoughts on what could be going on here?

Site could be optimising, antenna might need adjusting.

Chorus has spent $1.4 billion on making their xDSL broadband network faster. If your still stuck on ADSL or VDSL, why not spend from $150 on a master filter install to make sure you are getting the most out of your connection?

I assume that can take a couple of weeks to complete?

I also want to get second antenna mounted to max out 4g connection.

Still a big improvement from my crappy adsl at 1-2mbs!
