Hey all,

Keen to hear your opinions here.
Im looking at resigning my contract for a S8 or S8+ in a month or two. Now i'd like to select the best carrier for my needs.

I use about 15GB data a month, I split this in half with my sister and pay for her. This is a requirement.
My spend is $170 per month.
I use spotify so that could help cut the spend down.

Any streaming promotion, e.g netflix has no weight to the deal.

Network must be best for Whangarei/Auckland and in between.

Any other general comments to strengthen your opinion of your carrier would be great!
I'm ex VF staff and always held a high opinion of VF until recent. Truenet also looks pretty shabby on VF's part, On-Net and Off-Net. They made my mate redundant...

Cheers

Spark. With Vodafone you can't even get 4G in Wellington's Lambton Quay area - just by its own building... and when you get 4G then no data moves.

Seriously. Spark.

Sigh, yep.

I have services with all 3, and Spark has the best average performance.

Do you want to amend your thread title? I assume you mean or rather than of. Stupid autocorrect!

At the moment considering going Spark to VF because of the overseas roaming ($5/day vs $10).

Since you live in Devonport, check the Spark coverage on Lake rd as you are driving past the Devonport golf course. Friend who had a Spark work mobile was always complaining about it. This was a few years ago so hopefully it has been fixed now.

Best to check coverage in your local area. Downstairs in my house 2degrees has the best coverage. And I managed to find a street on the North Shore (Birkenhead / Chatswood area). That has 0 Vodafone reception but plenty of 2deg reception. (Shame the Vodafone / 2deg roaming agreement is only 1 way). Don't know if that street has Spark reception.

Another vote for Spark - best coverage and best average performance. Have currently got both Vodafone and Spark mobiles.

No carrier can say they have more coverage over another even 2D has really expanded it's own coverage foot print over the last 18 months

:)

Fine by me - means home detention can happen in more places.

Way i see it

Spark for extras and a good network.

Vodafone if you travel lots as they have better roaming

2degrees if you don't really need data during the day or most times and you like to waste money :)
