Huawei P30 Pro on Vodafone got it. In fact we were in a busy restaurant at the time and everyone's phones went off at the same time.

None of our phones got it this time.
Are they supposed to work with wifi calling?

If you have no cellular connectivity at all, then no. The alerts are a cell broadcast; if you're not on a cell, you don't get the broadcast.

Three of our four phones went off. The one that didn't was was my granddaughter's Miezu Note.

Wife and I got the alert, but I only knew about it because I was checking Facebook at the time (my phone is always on silent).

You'd think that if the phones are able to receive emergency messages, the software in the phone would be able to override silent mode?

Neither of our Vodafone Smart V8s received the alert last time, despite being on the list (latest available software).  Be interesting to see what happens on Sunday

I've got a Vodafone Smart V8 too and received the alert last time.

Nothing for us this time either. We are both on 2D, not that that should matter

We've got two Vodafone Smart V8's in the house, both on Vodafone, and they both received the alert at the same time (about 6:07pm). I also note that the Civil Defence website lists the V8 as being compatible.

I thought that it did over ride DND and silent mode.

Not in my case.

Sarah Stuart-Black was on Morning Report this morning and acknowledged that some phone models remain silent if on silent mode.

wonder if @NickMack wants to do any sleuthing?  NZ-purchased V8s on 2D, but neither of mine sounded the alarm last night.

I'll ask if we know of any compatibility issues with those. If they were NZ firmware I can't think of any reason why they wouldn't work.

A friend had an iPhone with a eSIM and a physical SIM in it. They received the message twice. I also received the message on my Apple Watch.

That's a bit of a problem, because I know of many people who keep their phone on airplane mode, and only use wifi. This is to conserve battery life, and also means no distractions during downtime. This is one reason I have a landline, as I mainly use my phone as a mobile internet device.
