hio77: Try adjusting the angle yep.

Also might be worth trailing setting modem to only attennas mode.
Just make sure you never use it without antennas while in that config as it can fry the radio.

Something def not right with this picture.... Can you see what I'm referring to? Or anything which smells like false advertising?  Maybe it's my imagination.....:D

It's just wideband...

regardless OP's issue looks to be switching to a signal that wont travel 20KM well at all.

There are firmwares that can assist with this sort of issue for the B315s but it seems like an ideal usecase for the b618s tbh.

a shame that isn't possible in this instance ;)

Where is OP located specifically, maybe find another tower closer to him? ;) If north anyway... or poss VDSL?.patchy   Who do GoWireless use for WBB?

Btw on a side note how would one go about a DSLAM port scan?  ....I'm kidding :D   But is it possible to verify if spare ISP ports are available, remotely?

Gowireless is simply a store not the op's provider.

Dslam port shortages are rare. Often fixed quickly, pair shortages however are a pain.
Rsps can see a flag for if the dslam is a waiter.

I'm 20km south of the Kaitaia tower, in the foothills of the Raetea range. We're about 200m up above the Takahue valley and can see 90 mile beach and across to Karikari from here, though not Kaitaia itself as a few little hills in the way. But we are quite open to the north and get good 4G phone signal even if we don't have direct line of sight. Chorus were never able to hook us up to a fixed line, we're about 5km from the Takahue exchange.

With the router, I've got the latest firmware installed and set it to use antenna 1 and 2. When it's switching between bands, is that at the same tower or not? I'm unaware of any other towers nearby.

could be tower, however sounds like in your case it isn't the case.

inwhich case, the tower must be doing both Band 3 and Band 7.

Likely your mobile sees this as 4G+ (LTE-CA)

Wait until the new RBI router with CA comes out, buy it and enjoy both of those bands at once :)

Chorus has spent $1.4 billion on making their xDSL broadband network faster and even more now as they are upgrading their rural Conklins. If your still stuck on ADSL or VDSL, why not spend $195 on a master filter install to make sure you are getting the most out of your connection?
I install - Naked DSL, DSL Master Splitters, VoIP, data cabling and general computer support for home and small business.
Rural Broadband RBI installer for Ultimate Broadband and Full Flavour
