Hey all Geekies...

I've got the basic understanding of VOIP and lil bit of PBX.

I want to use a single handset or may be telephone/cordless phone for incoming as well as outgoing from VOIP as well as my PSTN. I know it is possible but don't know how..!!!

Can anyone suggest me using which hardwares or equipments... i can manage to use both VOIP and PSTN from single phone.

Thanks in advance... !!! :)

Buy a VoIP adapter such as the SPA3102 that supports this functionality.

Thanks for replying.... that was quite fast guys.

just to clarify... if i use SPA3102, incoming from both VOIP and my PSTN would be possible, rite???

And do I have to create complex dial plans for using outgoing from either services or can I simply create something like if i press #1 then it will use VOIP and if #2 then it will use PSTN.

Siemens gigaset range would be my choice for the home.
The A510IP is the base model of their IP phone range. You can have up to 6 SIP registrations and one PSTN line. The base station does all the thinking and call routing. Ie. you can tell incoming calls on VoIP1 to ring to Phone1 and then make PSTN calls go to Phone2. Then for outgoing calls you can say use VoIP1 and if busy use PSTN.
You can have up to six DECT handsets registered to one base. great piece of kit.

Incoming will work for both and you could configure either method for outbound.
