Hi Guys,

I have one of these which I'm really struggling to setup with 2Talk. I've guessed the majority of the sessions from my experience with Cisco and Yealink products, but I can't nut out the "Call Progress Tones" which are coded quite differently from Cisco's.

I'm not too sure if I need the Distinctive Ring Tones as well, but I'm guessing I can go without. I'm using the gateway for a FAX machine so settings need to be spot on.

I've always used SPA gateways from Cisco/Linksys but have not found them reliable enough. Sadly looks like I've shot myself in the foot with this fancy one which is beyond my skills set. We use 3CX which supports this gateway, but I can't get the 3CX -> 2Talk connection to behave using T.38 so I'm wanting to go direct to 2Talk which makes the most sense.

Any assistance would be gratefully received.

Cheers,
Jay

Have a look at Steve Biddles's blog post on setting up the Cisco ATA's. It is pretty much the best thing you will ever find on NZ tones and dial plan.

Everything in there should be transferable to your ATA.

Edit: I have plenty of SPA112's out there and they don't really skip a beat. What is it you found unreliable?
Also, I am happy to post up a link to Steve's config with some mods in it for 2Talk and faxing over 2Talk.

Thanks kindly for the reply, I've had a look over his page already and have even sent him a private message to see if he might have any knowledge which he could share with me. Sadly the codes are a whole different type which I can't translate from Linksys/Cisco land. If you look at the image I posted, you'll see it's quite different.

The issue which I had with the SPA units is that they just stop responding after a few weeks or perhaps a month or two and need rebooting before they kick back into gear. They are well supported and easy to configure. We tried using them for both Faxing and with DECT cordless phones, but went away from them once we could get Yealink W52P IP DECT phones and Siemens Cordless Phones.

We use 3CX as our in-house PABX which is great, but usually Faxing goes straight to our 2Talk provider.

Thanks again for taking the time to reply :)

The reseller you purchased this from will be able to provide support and NZ specific setup samples.
