I'm after a solution that will

- give me one phone number for home + mobile
- let me answer the phone using a computer and talking via PC headset
- let me text to other mobiles from android + windows desktop

the best solution i can currently find is skype with skype number.  that gives me pretty much all I want, but wondering if there was a better solution out there?

Skype on android will let me answer calls to skype number so I can use that as my "mobile" number, and I can use skype on PC obviously.  their texting rates aren't the best though.

anyone know of a better solution?

google voice seems perfect, except its not available in NZ :P

fixed the second link, they both were linked to the same "150694" thread?

Am looking to ditch my landline too, currently researching if 2Talk would take my number port and allow me to receive it on my Mobile instead?
