Hi Often my Voip phone looses connection  after 10 or 15 seconds into the conversation. I have a Fibre connection with Bigpipe and 2 Talk as my Telco.

I contacted both 2Talk and Bigpipe support and the result is as follows. 2 Talk believe it is a connectivity issue as they can see by the logs that the call has started but partway through the call it drops out. They suggested Bigpipe should be able to see it from their end. I then contacted Bigpipe who said it was not a connectivity issue and that they suspect the problem with 2 Talk. Back to 2 Talk with this and they  said "

""<tickets@2talk.co.nz>We have logs showing that several of these calls are disconnected from the other party. When we send you the BYE packet to terminate that call, your device does not respond which shows this connectivity issue. This is probably because the issue occurs during the call which would drop the audio (which these captures do not show) but would explain why they're hanging up on you.
You could check your router/firewall for a SIP ALG setting which might be causing this, but I'd still say it is most likely an issue with the internet connection. If you can enable ICMP on your router/firewall so we can ping it, then we can enable some monitoring to see if there are general connectivity issues causing latency spikes or packet loss throughout the day. Or you could chase it up directly with your internet provider to see if they can see anything. ""

I again went back to Bigpipe  and they confirmed all was well from their end.

After my fibre connection in December  I had connectivity issues and Bigpipe said may I need a Public IP address which they sold me. Still having problems they suggested it maybe my  TPlink Router was not suitable with Fibre. I then purchased from them a Huawei modem router which they said "would work straight from the box" which it did. I am now having calls lose connection partway through conversation. I am reluctant to change any modem settings as this problem did not show up until recently.

Can anyone help

I never use Huawei routers with built in VoIP to run other VoIP devices. The Huawei seems to mess with SIP traffic.

Chorus has spent $1.4 billion on making their xDSL broadband network faster and even more now as they are upgrading their rural Conklins. If your still stuck on ADSL or VDSL, why not spend $195 on a master filter install to make sure you are getting the most out of your connection?
I install - Naked DSL, DSL Master Splitters, VoIP, data cabling and general computer support for home and small business.

When I first got my phones I had to disable SIP ALG to get them to connect. Hence needing a new router as my Belkin was unable to disable SIP Therefore got a TPLink while still on the copper line. After getting my Huawei router I didn't need to disable this. Therefore I guess SIP is enabled.
