Hi guys,

I'm attempting to set up a VOIP phone at home, so that we can use skype to make phone calls to other skype users, also to overseas landlines. 

What would be ideal is if there is a cordless phone I can buy which both landline and Skype capability, where it rings regardless of whether it is a landline call or skype call.

Any tips/suggestions?

There are dual phones available - I run a Doro model (http://www.wirelessonline.com.au/product.php?productid=8503069) which works well, except the software can be a little flakey at times....

I picked it up for $30 new a few years ago at a Harvey Norman sale.

The one thing to watch for with the dual phones is the software support - the maufacturers generally only seem to supply one release of the software and thats it, no updates or support if you encounter problems with it.

First question is whether you want one that is standalong (ie no PC required) or one where you don't need the PC turned on.

Your best bet is probably a Dualphone such as the 3088, very few places carry them since they've never taken off but Expansys have a pretty good price on them.
