I've got a few WAG54GP2 ATAs that I'm refurbishing.  Any suggestions for a free account I can use for testing the VoIP section?  I'm after a service where the account will not be locked to the device I'm testing, so I can just swap out devices.  Cost is not an issue, as long as it is free ;-).  Ideally the service provider should have setup info for the WAG54GP2, as this is a short term project and I'm into electronics, not IT.  This is just for testing, not for long term use.  Thanks.

+1 for 2talk free account. Just make sure you make inbound calls from another 2talk account as calls to their free numbers are charged as non geographical. You can also set up a free account and then add a local number to the account for $7 per month.

My views (except when I am looking out their windows) are not those of my employer.

Thanks guys. Each 2Talk account gets 2 numbers. Does that mean I can set them up on 2 separate ATAs for my test setup, or must it be 2 ports on one ATA? Basically I just need to check the audio is clean and do a 24h test to see the unit is stable.

Also 2Talk requires a positive account. Do I have to pay a credit at sign-up, and how much? Could not find the answer without signing up, which I'm not ready to do just yet.

Get 2talks free 028 number - 15min free landline minutes per month. I don't think you need credit on the account to make the free calls.

Chorus has spent $1.4 billion on making their xDSL broadband network faster. If your still stuck on ADSL or VDSL, why not spend from $150 on a master filter install to make sure you are getting the most out of your connection?

Thanks guys.

I thought the 15 free minutes is only once-off like for trialling the service, great that it is every month as I will need more that 15 minutes of testing.

The sign-up page mislead me, because step 4 says "payment" but going through the steps you never have to provide a credit card number.

I'm signed up, activated, and registered. Now just need to find a spare phone... must have one somewhere.
