What VoIP provider should I sign up to? 2talk or VFX? Both have their advantages....

I'll be using Vodafones Broadband Complete modem and I know i can get 2talk to work on this as i've tested it with one of their free accounts - not sure if VFX will even work on it but i dont see why not?

On the other hand, VFX comes with unlimited local calling... so i won't have to keep track of my local usage...

Any recommendations?

I use 2talk with vodafone mobile BB similar to you. Works well with no real issues. 2Talk seems cheaper all around but lower service but realistly this hasnt been a problem for me.

Both 2talk and VFX will work on any broadband connection from any provider. As I have said in other threads to the same question as you have asked it is up to you as to who you think you will get best value for money from. I have used both services and have found both really good. In the end I went with 2talk as with allstar1 I have found them cheaper all round.

I know they will both work on any BB connection but i have only tested 2talk with my Vodafone BB Complete modem - from what i've read, vfx was a little harder setting up on the Vodafone modem.

Both services are $11.50 a month, but vfx offers free local calling - how does this make 2talk cheaper? Are you referring to toll calls?

To be honest, with the 2Talk ... you think you will use more than 2000 minutes locally?
Ive got the 2Talk 20 and have never even got close to the 1000 local/country minutes ... which gives it an advantage over xNet at 5c/min. 2Talks rate after that @ 3x/min is also better.

The big difference is calling Mobiles. XNEt advertise at 28c/min whereas 2Talk is 19c.

Havent used the XNet web portal for managing the account, but the 2Talk one is pretty good ... and having used their Free Account its a known quantity for you.

2Talk One Number is a real handy feature ... being able to have a Softphone logged in as well as the physical phone ... in fact I use a client which synchs to Outlook .. so when the physical phone rings, my laptop displays the Caller name (although most lookups give a name anyway ... but for mobiles etc its handy)

Yup absolutely correct.

Yup absolutely correct.

I assume you're trying to register multiple SIP devices using the same SIP registration at the same time? You can only have a single device registered with a single SIP extension at any time. The last device to register will be the one that rings.

Not with 2Talk.

My ATA is registered with 06XXXXXXX
My Softphone with 06XXXXXXX-1

and when a call comes in ... both ring.
