Oh, if you're having problems using youtube, I recommend using Google Chrome. Since it uses SPDY for 90-95% of connections, it sends all of its traffic over SSL to Google sites (and everyone else who supports SPDY), meaning that you avoid the transparent proxy.

So, here is my reply to TCL:

-----------------------------------

Hi Chi L/Phillip T,

Thanks for looking into this. Unfortunately I am unable to even log into your https://telstraclear.custhelp.com/ site due to me not even having a login for this site.

So I registered a new account for this site (as to why I need to do this is dumbfounding me), and then when I click your link, I get an access denied (after I registered with the email address that you have for me on file).

Can you sort this mess out? Why do I need to have a separate login to another one of *your own* systems?

--

In response to your questions:

My DNS servers were set at:

203.96.152.4
203.96.152.12

and now I have change them to what you suggested below

Primary DNS:203.97.78.43
Alternate DNS: 203.97.78.44

I have restarted the modem tonight also as advised.

When plugging my ethernet from my main desktop into the cable modem directly, I was unable to get any internet connection, so I don't think that is going to solve the problem.

Please advise what needs to happen from here

Please help me out
Sean

-----------------------------------

So I replied to the emails that TCL sent me, but I have no idea if they even received them due to the fact I cannot log in to their system.

The more I try to help out TCL, the more frustrating this experience is becoming.

Open your router administration page and copy the IP details (IP, gateway, DNS Mask, DNS). When plugging th PC directly to the modem configure the network to use these details instead of getting them automatically.

This will make your PC work directly with the modem.

Just change the PC network configuration to automatic when you plug the router back.

Yep high latency and can't reach some sites at the moment. Traceroutes are failing at telstra servers.
